As the temperature rises, the strength of the metal will decrease. For this reason valves are classified by the upper temperature limitation (SWP or Steam Working Pressure) and ambient temperature limitation (WOG or Water, Oil, Gas).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The WOG rating stands for water, Oil and gas and indicates the maximum pressure per square inch that the valve [The body and bonnet] can take.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Example<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n[1000 WOG] is 1000 psi for gas-oil-water.<br \/>\n1000 psi is the maximum pressure rating allowed under normal &#8220;ambient&#8221; temperature conditions, -29 \u00baC to 38 \u00baC.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Definitions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>*<\/strong> SWP: Steam Working Pressure: This designates the maximum recommended steam
